Photochromic technology is a type of lens technology that automatically darkens in bright light and lightens in low light. This is achieved through the use of a photochromic pigment embedded within the lens material. When exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light, the pigment changes its molecular structure, becoming darker. When the UV light intensity decreases, the pigment reverts to its lighter state.
